About the Journal

AIMS

Journal of Polity and Society is an international peer-reviewed biannual journal enlisted in the UGC CARE list published by the Department of Political Science, University of Kerala. JPS publishes contemporary scholarship on international relations, comparative politics, public policy, political theory and other major socio-economic and cultural issues having political ramifications at the global, national, and regional levels. We welcome articles on all major areas of political science, essays, policy analysis, and book reviews from different perspectives. Depending on the contemporary relevance, JPS may also publish special issues from time to time.

REVIEW PROCESS

JPS aims to uphold a fair and transparent review process. JPS shall not accept or publish in print or online manuscripts without prior peer review. JPS follows a double-blind peer review. The authors are not aware of the identity of the reviewers and vice-versa. There will be a prediscussion phase wherein basic aspects like journal length, basic plagiarism check, spelling and grammatical errors and referencing style. There shall be review process of manuscripts by two independent referees who are conversant in the pertinent subject area. The editor evaluates the recommendation and notifies the author of the manuscript status. The manuscript may be: accepted as it is, accepted after minor revision, accepted after major revision, or rejected. The comments of the anonymous reviewers will be forwarded to the authors. The authors have to revise the manuscript based on the comments of the editors and reviewers and resubmit it. They should give a statement telling what modifications they have made in their manuscript or why they have not made the suggested changes. Decisions will be made as quickly as possible. The journal will return reviewers’ comments to authors within a month. The editorial board will re-review manuscripts that are accepted pending revision.
